$160 for pulleys and $85 for install worth it in all for the pulleys? ( keep in mind I have ABS)I want torque w/ going with heads due to California smog testing now. Would pulleys help me gain a bit of torque and how much exactly? It says 5-8 but im unsure and doubtful its at the wheel. I have an AEM shortram intake and sebring tuning exhaust system now... thanx for any help

PS- Any other suggestions would help in my search for some torque mods. Spraying is sorta in mind already....

Pulleys really don't help you out all that much, and you can damage your accessories by underdriving them. If you replace the crank pulley, you lose your crank dampener, and that's bad for your engine. You don't want the thing to rattle apart. If you are going to replace your pulleys, just replace them with quality equal diameter units that have less mass.

For the money, I would get a quality header. You'll see a much larger power increase, especially because you'll be opening up the last major restriction in your airflow path.

DC sport headers are smog legal from what I hear but with new smog regulations i want to pass you know. What kind of increasement should I expect with this combo? And do you think it would be worth possibly having to remove them for a smog test every 2 years? If it meant helping out ALOT I would do it with no doubt.

How much overall horses should I pull as well as from where I'm at now with just I/E?

I had some unorthodox racing type ss pulleys on my old sedan dx and it helped quite a bit, but then again I had some other goodies in there(aem timing gear, I/H/E) I dont know the other stuff coupled with the pulleys incresed any performance but i rode around on them for about 3yrs without any problem the car started to rust out but it still had a go and had no enigne problems...so in my situation they did help and thats even in a 4door!

sounds like a good plan, but what I might do is look into heads. I dont wanna take the risk of screwing my eng up. Plus I have the I/E I should just complete the combo. Before I do Im gonna go ask some mechanics if I would pass smog. Im not allowed to put anything on before the Cat in Ca, even if I pass smog?!!? which makes no sense at all but im gonna look into it.
