I have a buddy that works at an Oreillys store thats ganna order me an intake. I was ganna go with a Ractive cause it is only about $140. My question is, do you know if it will fit on my DX? It does not list that it will fit on a DX in the catalog. And one more quick question. Should I go with the Ractive?

having a tad more experience these days. an intake is an intake. theres good, and theres better. good is a short ram, and better is a cold air intake. but brand wise, i think an intake is an intake. i dont know about fitting. i dont think it would be any different than an lx or ex. not for sure though.

I have had good experiences with ebays intakes, they seem to do the job however I dont have anything proven to show, its just the "feel" of the car is what I go by.
but for that money you could search around on some web boards, esp. the classifieds. I found my aem short ram intake (almost new) for 125 shipped, sure its used but it looks almot like it is brand new ![]() on the other hand ebays intakes are extremetly cheap, I got one for 40 bucks shipped. note: Don't bid on any of the intakes on ebay, contact the seller and tell give them a price (about 10-15 dollars less than the price advertised on the auction) more than likely they get these things mass-produced and are willing to go very low hope this helps ![]() --este |

Este had a good tip with contacting the seller because yeah, they're way mass produced. But I found the version 1 AEM cold air intake on ebay for 148 + 15 shipping. There is definatley a difference in the feel of the car, plus I love the obnoxious volume when revving high!

i agree AEM cold air is proven to produce power, i guess resonance has somethig to do with it, but a generic one will do fine.... plus you'll eventually replace it with a turbo or something else.. hah...
I spent 250 bones on aem cold air intake, and when i do my swap it won't even fit the new engine... waste of dough..
