ok. Here's the story. When I got my car the old lady who had the car before me, had her son tint the car for her. Well let me tell you this man must have been a master at the art of the Jimmy...rig that is. I have the WORST tint job on my windows so bad I cannot see cars behind me all I can see are blurred headlights at night thats it. Well the local tint shops want at least 80 bucks to take the tint off. Well I don't feel like shelling out 80 hard earned dolars for them to just spray something on my window and wipe it off in a few hours. I wanted to know what they use at tint shops and spray on the window to melt the tint. The guy said that he sprays this chemical on then covers it with a garbage bag then comes back in about 2 hrs and wipes the melted tint away. I got the tint off of all the windows except the rear. I usesd that tint remover spray, did not work on the back window and by no means was it easy on the front windows either. Another tint shop told me to use simple green to take the tint off. I was wondering if yall knew a better or any way to get it off without having to go through a million razors and weak sprays that don't work. Well any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance, James |

nope! Thats what the garbage bag is used for. The sunlight heats it up then I guess with a combo of the chemical and the garbage bag it comes off. Thanks for the tip though.

youre going to have a problem getting that tint out of your rear window.
if iot is not done the right way you'll definetly ruing the defrosters, believe me that really sucks. Your best bet if you dont know how to do it the right way(or if we can't help you here) is to go to a tint shop and ask them to remove it. I think the charge is something like 50-60 bucks. |

I've done tint for 2 years...all I've ever used is dawn dish washing soap & water in a sprayer...its an applicant and a remover...after the tint is off and/or mostly off...use a razor blade and rubbing alcohol/acetone(be EXTRMELY careful not to drip the acetone on interior) to finish removing...afterwards cleaning windows with favorite window cleaner and/or rubbing alcohol which is what i use

yeah I will try the soap method if that doesn't work I'll try the simple green and a garbage bag method, and if not you'll hear from me again. LOL

no thats the hard part The tint shop I talked to said that they did not even use a razor on the tint in the back. He said that they just wipe it away after they spray it.
