I don't have a 97 so I can't add pics BUT I'll try and explain the best I can.
There are what are called "trees" holding your door panel on from the backside. They are little clips that pop into the metal of your door frame and hold everything on tight. All you basicly need to do is either get a tool for removal, or . . use a flathead screw driver to get behind em' and pop em out. The panal will come right off. BEFORE you do that . . There should be a few phillips head screw holding random things onto your panel . . they may double serve the purpose of holding the panel to the door. Mine is a 92 so the screws are located inside the door handle cover, on the pull cover, and at the front of the door. I know that yours is differant so you'll have to look and see. If you have power options, you'll also have to disconnect the male/female cilps at the end of their wire harness. You can either use your fingers, a driver, or soem pliers for this . . I think that's it. Good luck. Sam - |

In a 97 pop off the speaker grille and remove 3 screws. Then remove the screw from the inner door handle lever, and then the last screw in the door pocket that you pull the door shut with. Once those are out, just pop off the panel from the door frame (I don't even use a tool!). Getting the panel off is easy, but to get it back on, you'll have to pop off the "A-pillar" (the little black triangle that your mirror is attatched to, it has no screws, just a clip so pull it right off). Doing this will allow you to slide the panel into the window slot much easier.
