How to swap Y7 intake mani to an Y8 intake mani

dont do this if you dont know what your doing cause it not my fault if you mess up.

Parts needed

Y8 intake manifold
5 foot 8mm fuel hose
Intake manifold gasket
Throttle body gasket
Y8 throttle stay
Y8 intake Manifold bracket

This is not going to be a step by step cause some of this it self explanatory

1. Disconnect negative battery
2. Remove sensors plugs and label each one. Doing this will save you a few extra minutes.

all sensor have what they are on them.
3. Drain Coolant, remove hoses from manifold should be about 6 or so. Some are coolant some are vacuum.
4. Disconnect fuel rail and fuel line connections, also remove purge valve hoses.
5. Now all hoses, connectors and everything else is removed, start loosening the bolts, there are 4 on the top and 3 on the bottom, there is also 2 bolts that hold the manifold from the back, remove those then the manifold should come out.

6. take the Y7 manifold and remove the throttle body and anything else
7. clean all the parts with carb cleaner (you can remove all the sensors except for the TPS sensor)
8. put on the new TB gasket and bolt up the TB

9. clean the carbon off the injector tips (**** BE CAREFUL****)
10. If you want you can purchase new injector seals they are made by Borg Warner and they cost about 7-10 dollars each PN 274621. Put the injectors into the fuel rail.

but don?t not install yet.
11. Attach the manifold bracket to the back of the manifold; do not tighten all the way.
12. Attach 1.5 foot of hose onto the coolant line and the PCV valve located under the manifold. Run the coolant hose to the left and the PCV hose to the right.

13. Slide the manifold on to the head and finger tighten the bolts the center on will need a swivel socket so that you can reach the center lower nut. Once all are on tighten.
14. I use the Y7 throttle body so my IAC valve was connected to it. Connect the coolant to the lower IAC tube and connect the PCV hose to the upper center nipple connection on the manifold.
15. Connect coolant hoses,
16. Now put in fuel rail with the injectors already in the rail, connect the Purge Valve Solenoid to the fuel rail there are 2 screw holes you can use.
17. Connect the evap canister on the fire wall to the lower nipple on the Purge solenoid and the other end to the lower nipple in the manifold.

it the little black box on the fuel rail.
18. Reconnect the brake booster vacuum the back nipple on the manifold.
19. On the bottom there is a small nipple that is used for cruise control just get some vacuum plugs and plug it up.
20. Connect the top of the FPR the small nipple on the front of the manifold near the TB and connect the lower to the fuel return line. Connect the fuel line to the fuel rail.
21. Now comes the easy part if you followed directions. Reconnect all electrical connections. Should be easy cause you labeled everything didn?t you:_doh:
22. Reconnect the throttle cable.
23. Refill coolant, try and start car.

When you?re done it should look like this.
Before:

After:

If you get an erratic idle it?s because you have a vacuum leak some where just go over you connections and see.

If anyone can add to this please do.
