im looking at getting new wheels, and im trying to decide on how wide of tire i can fit, with no probs. i have a '00 coupe, lowered about 1.5", and i want 16's i think. now on discount tire they say a 215/40-16 will fit, has anyone tried it? they list three choices for a plus 2 on my car, and they are: 205/40-16, 205/45-16, and a 215/40-16. so what do yall think?

With the stock engine/drivetrain, the 215/40/16 is the best fit that matches your stock tire diameter. You can also use 205/40/16 if you're worried about rubbing your fenders or suspension. If you use the 205/45/16 tires, you'll be about half an inch taller than your stock tires- and that makes your gearing effectively taller (slower acceleration) too.
It's up to you. |

Yup. I'm running 215/40/16 with a ~1.5" drop with zero problems.

Well I think 16"'s with those tires and a ~1.5" drop look perfect gap-wise on Civic's. You wont be disappointed.
