I bought my 1993 civic hatch a few months ago and since then have been bothered by the ammount of scratches on the front lip and front hood portion of the car (from highway driving no doubt). Now, eventually i plan on going with black rims so im thinking now that mabye a carbon fiber hood would look nice (my car is blue). well basically im a noob and was wondering how much a carbon fiber hood runs for a 5th gen hatch and if its a simple install, which i imagine it would be. thanks.

Installing the hood is easy, just take the time to alingn it good. I would also recommend installing hood pins, which does take some time, but isn't hard. Price depends on the quality, but you can get a decent one for around $450.

whatever you get make sure you get something that's worth your money, there are different grades and some of the crappier ones done even align right or have nasty rough cuts on the edges edges so beware of what you buy.

Yep. Hoodpins are the best $2 (or however much it is) you can spend. Too many disaster stories.

I recommend getting a VIS carbon fiber hood.
That's what I have and it's really nice.

As for hood-pins, I highly recommend them.
There have been hoods flying up when going down the interstate before.

Make sure to take some pictures once your done.
heh

Don't buy from ebay. Within the last two months I've had three customers bring in stuff they bought from ebay and of about the 12 items that were brought in total from the three people 8 of the items didn't fit. Yeah, some people might have had good experinces with it. ( myself have as well)But it might just be that one time where you buy a big item is where you get hosed.
Is saving the extra 10-20 dollars enough to basically trust someone that you've never bought from? Even though people have good feedbacks realize that he/she can post up a phony auction and have one of thier friends "bid and recieve thier product" and then leave a positive feedback. It cost next to nothing to post up an ebay auction so what's investing in a few bucks to make "business history"? It's better buying from a shop because you have a physical location that which you can call, email, AIM, or even visit in person if you have any questions or comments. You cannot put a price on sercurity but are you willing to give it up for a fe bucks?
