I have a 96 civic DX. 5 Speed.

Once I put on my air intake now i get a high squealing noise only at a certain points when i am depressing the gas pedal. If i am just cruising, no problem. Then when I hit the gas about half way and hold it, thats when it happens.

Sometimes its a pain on the highway if its going up a mountain and i have to hold that gas down more then usual, it will squeal all the way up, till i finally can let up the gas some.

Anyone else have this problem? Thanks

It's a whistling sound, it's normal. Mine does the same thing at about 1/4 throttle.

I have a 92' DX (Auto) that makes a whistling noise at idle after I installed a custom short Ram w/ Foam filter,Also tried paper its a lil less noisy!
Noise goes away at 100 RPM's above idle and I dont hear them again (until I'm idling again),
My Intake sounds mean and throaty when I get on the Gas but at idle it sounds like a suburban with a bad Vacuum leak..lol

Good luck!!

Do you have a short ram CAI or does it extend all the way down and out towards the front bumper?

Just FYI, a short ram is not a CAI. A CAI is the intake that extends down into the bumper.

No you don't have to take the bumper off. But, you do have to take off the wheel, and the fender liner.

its an AEM short ram intake. Doesnt go to the bumper.

It will make the noise if the air filter is on or off and just with the tube. But i hear the sound coming from inside the AEM tube when i rev it up standing there and listening. So its like the throttle body maybe??

It did the same thing with my shitty intake i had on. $69.99 LoL.
