Decide how fast and how much you are looking to spend.

im not sure about the amount i wanna spend yet. ive looked at alot of options like turbocharging swaps or just go with the engine i have now. i was looking for about 200hp. i know thats hard tho with naturaly asperated d16y8. so im leaning towards an engine swap or turbocharging what i have now

so im guessing you are wanting to spends in the thousands... um... i would do swap then sell your d16 and spend that money on some basic performance parts. unless you really want a turbo.

you could always turbo the single cam...a custom turbo kit on hondata would be good for how much hp you want...with upgraded internals of course(just my opinion so no one flips out). it would be extremely easy to pull 200 with turbo and hondata in a single cam without upgrading the internals, i just like the added safety. i put down 115 NA in my 98 ex, with just a header and short ram. now my car is fully built gsr(yet built for turbo). ill get it dynoed and we will see how that coomes out.

Just whatever you do, do it right... dont try to save a buck. you will just end up doing it over.

that is so damn true. i broke my single cam tranny and decided "to hell with it, im building my GSR."which turns out to be, jg sleeved 82 mm block with forged internals and a built head. ehh...should be fun. |
