how do i know if the o2 censor needs replacing. can it be cleaned ? my check engine light is not on. and i think my car is running rich. my car is also burning a bit more gas lately. let me know peeps

your o2 sensor I doubt needs replacing, the light always comes on when you have the least bit of a problem with sensors, Usually around 115k or more they tend to go out. As far as your burning gas... Check your sparkplugs, if your wires havent been changed... Change them, Also run a fuel injector cleaner it helps maybe 20% of the time... and to be on the safeside change your fuel filter if theres any corrosion...If your car is running rich I cant make a prediction on that?!?

Also... posting your mileage would help us answer your questions a lil faster.

ok. the engine has 170,000 klms( i live in canada). i got new plugs, wires, feul filter. but i think i,m gonna try feul injector cleaner next. i havent used that in awhile. thanks bro

no prob, When you do it. Do it at a half a tank so that it mixes in and flows through your injectors mixed well with the gas
