thats right. theres a bolt that connects your shifter to the shift linkage you have to remove. then you pull the little dust boot off and the shifter should pretty much come out.

buy a stock shifter. dont take this in the wrong way...but if thats a stock shifter and you broke it shifting into fourth...you must have been shifting pretty damn hard. Anyway stock shifters are the way to go...any of the short throw shifters are bad for your synchros so just use a stock one.

Anyway, underneath your car there will be a 12mm bolt holding the shift linkage to the shifter, remove that and the shift bar will fall down, now...in front of the shifter and behind the shifter are 2 10mm nuts...you have to remove those, they can be a pain in the ass because the way they are designed they have a square groove that the bolt that comes through fits in. Sometimes it likes to pop up and not grab...youll just have to deal with it, or you could drop the whole linkage....after that..you just pull the shifter straight out the bottom, pull off the little plate that is on it, stick it on your new shifter and re-assemble....that easy.

seriously bro, you need to stop saying that.. it's 100% untrue, some might be worse than others it's more of how you drive and shift thats bad for your syncs

GAYEST thing i've ever seen you write. hahahaha

but yea I'd have to say go DC or Skunk2. If you go skunk2 get the skunk2 knob too, then you'll have orgasms every time you put it in first gear like happy mcgee up here. hahaha

I vouch for the Nuespeed ones. This was the first mod to my car!!!
It came with poly bushings which made huge difference, and the throw is smooth and firm, yah baby!
The reason I went with Nuespeed is because it was one of the few to offer a different model for the 99-00 si (sir) instead of 92-00 civics!!

Of course once you get this, you'll need a spoon shift knob, shortens the shifter another inch! , though its adjustable. and a jdm shift boot
