ok my friend has a 97 coupe and when you take off it shudders real bad and almost acts like it wants to die. when it is in gear it idles at what looks like less than 500 rpms, and it kinds jumps around. the check engine light is on and she got that checked by autozone and they said it is the map sensor. would that make it act like that? her boyfriend said its the motor mount but why would that make the tack jump around. so any suggestions would be great.

The motor mount would have nothing at all to do with it.. Your alternator could be giving out on you if the Check engine light came on and the car is almost dying out.. you might also wanna check your sparkplugs etc. Try running fuel system cleaner at about a half a tank for the hell of it. Sounds like kind of a scratchy problem.. Try the following, and have your alternator check out.. Sounds like the samething that happened to my ladys car before it went dead on her one day.

Ok... It will be one of the things i am going to post.

Idle Control Vavle, Fast air valve, manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP),
Coil inside the distributor, Rotor in the distributor, Distributor Cap, Wires, or plugs.
Also might be your throttle positioning sensor. .... If the idle is fluctuating, then it is your Idle Control Valve, or O2 sensor, and that maens that, if it is your o2 sensor, you might have a blown catalitic converter.

If your getting an ECU code for your MAP sensor than that is where I would start. That would be the smart thing to do in my opinion. If it's not that than scan the ECU again. It sounds like it could be your Idle control valve.
