Ok, Im starting to think twice about the bling parts being ive spent countless hours trying with no fitment whatsoever. Im giving them back with my money in return..

My current mods:
4-1 header
exhaust
and short ram intake

however my car is an auto.

My question is how the hell can you get a zex kit to engage on an automatic? And with doing just a 50 shot do I need to upgrade anything internally or external to be on the safeside? And whats separates wet from dry..?

keep in mind I was a exterior junkie and just starting get into performance mods..I know i can look on the website and I will but Id rather hear it from you guys firsthand, being a few of you guys are actually using them.

dough, did you sell the exterior sheez? keep it... I like your ride... anyway, performance wise... I would just do a manual tranny swap, and start from there. That would be my first mod if I was you, unless you only drive auto?? anyway... you can always swap the motor if you want, or keep the D and try to work with that. But yeah I would do a tranny swap if I were you.

Read that.

As for the auto part, you can run a window switch...MSD makes em. Basically its an RPM activated switch that turns on and turns off the nitrous at your desired RPM. So set it up to turn on at 4k maybe, and shut off a few hundred RPM before redline/fuel cutoff. That way you're not on the juice while the tranny shifts. If you have any other questions, let me know. I'm a nitrous junkie, and have a zex kit.

cool meng.. nice write up btw. I'll AIM you bro after i get the quote from him today on it.

and bo, a manual swap is as much as almost swapping the motor in general.. my car has 113,xxx on it.. I'll wait until the motor is gone before i get a 5spd in there. I just want quick interchangable speed for a run or two, something i dont have to worry about selling when i swap.

I think this is pretty ideal as far as what im looking for. Or the next best thing for now..

If you want, I may be interested in selling my kit...I haven't used it for a long time, it's not installed, and I have a bunch of brand new parts for it. So I MAY be interested in selling...

I have a zex kit on my D16Y8/auto with the 50hp jet installed.

The kit engages from a learned signal of wide open throttle from your throttle position sensor.

I took it one step further for more control and have a relay setup on my horn buttons so that when the zex is activated (switched on) my horn becomes the trigger (of course wide open throttle is needed to fully activate the spray also) I did this primarily so that when at full throttle and spraying I can let off the N2O when the car is shifting but keep the throttle wide open. I also installed small colored led lights in my dash to let me know whats going on. One for zex armed, and one for triggered.

One thing I highly recommend with any nitrous kit is a purge kit.

Yeah i read that in bretts write up. The steering wheel idea doesnt sound so bad either, With everything you did (accessories included) what was your total cost?

Im supposed to be getting a deal on it brand new.. I'd like to compare yours to the quote im gonna get Monday.

Ill look through my reciepts tomorrow and see if i can find the invoice and ill let you know.. im not sure how much the prices have changed over the years, most likely its cheaper now (hopefully).

Retail on the kits hasn't really changed much.
