Problem With Speedometer

I have a question about the speedometer. Yea the problem is that when i am driving the speedometer will stop working or if i shut the car off and then turn it back on the speedomter wont work. Then the check engine light comes on..anyone know how to solve this problem i would appreciate some good info thanks.

I am having a very simliar problem but it may be diffrent. The speedo stick at 20 mph all the time. Once in a while it will work fine, then suddenly go back to 20mph. It also jumps up and down for no apparent reason, I was thinking it was the vss but do you think the speedo head could be bad, or perhaps faulty wireing?

vss sounds like as well check that first its the cheaper fix

I hear the vss is easy to replace, where should I pick one up, local honda dealership or should I buy it online. what is the average price?

gianthbbt that exactly how my speedomter act. Sorry i dont know the lango but where is the vss located and where can i get it and what is it?? Sorry if ya think im stupid i just havent studied apparently........
