There is a misconception on the speakers on Hondas. The reason why is that most 6.5" speakers are actually 6" speakers to broaden the amount of vehicles that one pair of speakers will work on. 5th gen Civics should be 6" all the way around. 6th gens are 6" up front and 6x9" in the rears. If you purchase Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer or many other peoples 6.5" speakers, they will fit fine. If you go with JL for example, the 6.5" speakers will not fit because they are a true 6.5" and in that case you will want to go with their 6" speakers.
