Well about a few weeks ago i got my remote start installed, and power door lock actuators put in. A week later i left the car in reverse by accident putting my center console back together. I was stupid enough to remote start it, all the way down my driveway into my brothers boat. Smashed the rear glass and crunched the trunk. But since then, i've put on a new trunk (black one, hehe) and a new back glass !!!

Ha ha ha ha........... thats almost as funny as when my boss moved my car across the shop lot and I got off work after a 10hr shift and remote started mine from about 50ft away and watched it start in reverse, back over a pile of cinderblocks, over 3 pallets and off a 2ft inbankment. It was a trip cause I watched the whole thing, but my luck it didnt really screw anything up.................. I always set my ebrake!!!!!!

e brake should alwaya be on when parked...

does anyone make one for a standard? I'v seen them advertised but never wanted to risk getting one and it not work properly..and are they worth it?

This is why I won't install a remote start in a manual transmission vehicle (besides Clifford's remote start.) If you insist on using a remote starter for automatic transmissions only on a 5 speed, there is a way to make the remote start work only when the park brake is on using a relay and a couple diodes, though.

I left the handbrake on, and tightened as much as possible, that shows how strong the starter motor is. And yes i wish i had a remote start that wouldn't attempt if it was in gear, maybe they make a nuetral safety switch ?!?! that would be nice.
