Civicland.com New Look

Hi CL Members,

As you may notice a few changes as you signed on, yes ownership has changed. CivicLand is now owned by Response Import Auto Fashion http://www.shopresponse.com We are an Internet retailer that specializes in sales of high end goods and accessories only. Like Mugen, Spoon Sports, HKS, Greddy, RAZO, Genuine JDM Honda Parts of Japan + more. So please visit us there as well.

Some of you may know us already as we also own www.jdmchat.com. Which is a new site only 2 months old but we already on our way to a remarkable 500 members. So please join there as well as it is geared towards the JDM industry and Japan culture as well.

For CivicLand, we plan on taking an already great community but make it even better. So expects lots of changes shortly. The sale of the site went through as the prior owner didn't have quite the time to maintain the site as much as he used to, but as the new owner you will see we are looking to make the site more active and get more members here to sign up as well and an overall better experience.

Anyhow I will keep you all posted on new changes and thanks for being part of such a remarkable site!

I am not very well known around here, but I just happened to meet the CL crew at NOPI Nationals 2005. They were very helpful and knowledgable. I have been lurking around here since interjecting here and there.
Lets all just continue to get along and enjoy sharing our passion for the car lifestyle with each other and passing on our knowledge to those that request it

A quick note, Civic Land will welcome all members who join and won't discriminate anyone. It will be a continue to be a great forum and retain its core values. Now lets just start to enjoy.

I had actually left CL for a while and just over a week ago I came back to post something, but noticing the slow activity on the site I was thinking of leaving for good. Now that I see these awesome changes I definitelly want to stay! There are members on here who really know their shit who are like walking encyclopedias and with their help, this place could really take off. It's almost impossible for someone new to it all to go to HT and ask something without getting bashed on. That doesn't happen here. We all give our honest opinions. The site should welcome anyone, and if we do get ricers, they'll leave on their own...

You see that was the original intent from the last get-go on this site. We had forums for everything accords, hatchbacks, sedans etc... it is when people that were fans from other sites that decided to come in and bash the site that the real tightness of the community came out... one way or another they were usually run off.

We also had a BAD attitude towards riced out cars.. but thats the past and this is now. I am also sure you will see a lot of rather hostile posts, if any of the old members feel to express their feelings on the situation. However, I am sure you (new admins) understand that a take over on a site as small and community-oriented as this was will not be a smooth transition.

To all the older members Lets face a few things:

* The site was pretty stagnant
* Other than Eric's Daily rant links to the kegtapper it was pretty quiet in here
* I for one didnt come around much, not because of lack of interest but the quality of posts was rapidly deteriorating (no offense to anyone)
* The new admins do not seem to be here to "destroy" the site nor the community (what we have left of it)
* The improvements are for the better, and with a company or business taking over the site only good things are bound to happen sans the ads
* Change was needed, while it might not be entirely welcome right away wel... it is our choice to be here or not (unless you get banned for being an ass hehe )

In one way or another, from a 2002 member I welcome the changes, and unless everyone I know and remember leaves Ill be around
