Well everyone, a new chapter has come in the history of civicland. We have a new owner. I'd like to introduce all of you to Daniel with Response Import Auto.
One of my major concerns before the transition was made was that the core of CL was maintained. The site needs a lot of evolution to remain competitive in this Honda Automotive Forum market. One main thing is that we expand to all Honda (that might even mean changing the name) One great point that was made to me while i sought counsel about this move, was that the Civic isnt hondas bargin basement car anymore, the fit is here and the Civic is the new Accord. So unless we want to maintain just an OG membership of 5th and 6th gen'ers we need to evolve. Another thing was that I know most of you saw, I just didnt have the time (or desire sometimes) to maintain or grow with the site. Even selling my car has crossed my mind. CL has always been close to my heart, I've learned SO much as most of you have here. In much soul searching, much advise and many questions for my new counter-part, i think that this is just the best way to go. When i purchased the site from Buck, it was deemed "kept in the family" well i still consider this to be the case. We're all still here, the site has some new exciting doors to choose from and this could be the avenue that was needed to keep Cl above the water line and moving in a positive direction. I'm sure it will take a lot of adjustment on a lot of our parts but with all the factors coming into play this was the best thing for the site. I hope you all understand and embrace the change. |

As the new owner of the site, rest assure that this site will be maintaned and promoted to help it grow. With over 14 years in the automotive industry in the mecca in Japanese Imports Southern California, I have gained quite a bit of knowledge and experience in the industry. This site will still be aimed towards Civics, but we also may introduce other forums here for ohter model Hondas. So expect some changes which should all be for the better.
This site will continue to flourish in right direction and is a great site which was built by you the members. I look forward to getting to know all of you soon. Daniel |

Well like i said in other posts...I have quite a bit of knowledge in the performance aspect of hondas, and i try to help people on this site...I prefer this site to honda-tech for a lot of reason, the main reason being that there isnt a whole lot of bashing going on here...Its mostly helping people decide on stuff. Well If you guys need any help...let me know ill be more than willing to lend a hand...i always was!

Glad you are here to help! Yes CL will then remain as this type of forum. Bashing, putting others down won't be tolerated. That is what I believe makes more than just being another forum. Thanks for the friendly gesture.

Well Just to give the new owner and members that have come along with the purchase from JDMCHAT. I'm Mike, i've been around here for 5+ years and really do consiter CL to be a second home and a first family to me. I hope to see new and exciting things in the sites future. Eric, good job on letting the site go to someone that has true intensions on moving this site forward in a good driection and not turning it into another noob bashing fag fest.
Dan, Congrates on the take over, i hope to see some hard work out of you to build my small homble home into a place you won't be able to drag me away from (not that you could do that now anyway!) |
