You know, you guys are the exact opposite of hondaswap.
I originally wanted to turbo the B16, and everyone was saying "build an ls/vtec! the b16 is weak!" so I decided to do an LS/VTEC all motor monster. Then I had my ass handed to me by a 7 series BMW like 3 weeks ago... so now I'm going to boost this on stock settings until I can afford some 9:1 pistons, forged rods and the works. |

good idea bro. seriously though I dont know why someone would buy an SI just to swap the engine down the line. That would be like getting a bmw m3 and going you know what I am going to get a 323i motor build that bitch like woah, and supercharg it or something....

but if your are going to keep your stock internals, be smart, dont be a reatard. Low boost, and monitor everything.

http://www.turbo-kits.com/civic_turbo_kits.html First kit under the "96-00 Civic" Section. 7-8 psi max boost with the wastegate you get, which is ALL I need for now. I need to find a P28 and chip it with an S200 (which I asked about earlier). My next purchase will be a boost controller (Greddy Profec E01 - $544 just for that). I'm getting a dual pod bezel gauge for oil and temperature (more accuracy = better) also an A piller double gauge pod for an A/F and a boost gauge. I'll run on stock internals until I can afford to call up IB spec and get some pistons and rods for the b16. I'm going to run on stock valves, but I will be upgrading the rest of the valvetrain, I'd also like to find some boost cams. high lift/low duration, I believe Crower and Skunk2 make a set. I'll keep stock exhaust until I can get an Exmag catback. As you can tell, I've been planning on this for a loooong time. Finally getting to the point financially that I can start to save for it. |

glad to see you know what you are doing. that seems to be a really nice kit, for a great price. so when you get some internals w/ that kit all you have to do is upgrade the wastegate? everything else straight?

Yeah I can upgrade the wastegate witha higher setting, might be good for 10ish psi. I might have to grab a larger turbo, the efficiency is only good for 450 hp. One of these days i will have a large blower on it and I will put this Civic into the 12s.

you know if you really wanted to make your si inconspicuous, you could take off the spoiler, and change out the tail lights

because the clear and red, he meant throw oranges in there.. But there would be no sense in making the car ugly just so people dont steal it lol.
Seriously an Si is what it is, If you like it the way you bought it then rock it, no sense in making it less desirable to thieves just to keep them away. |
