I have NEVER seen those on a US car. The only Civic i have ever seen the bumper trim on is a REAL JDM 6th gen(96-00) that a 60yr old guy from my area drives for a daily driver. My guess is that it is just held on by adhesive since i have NEVER seen a Civic bumper with holes for clips. |
Well i have noticed from the pic that you are NOT from the US. ![]() The moldings ARE stock that go on the front and rear bumpers of the car and are a NON US accessory. Everyone else in the world except the US i beleive got them. So yes they are JDM,UKDM,EDM whatever you want to call them. They are non US market. With that being said,They may be held on by clips,so if you want them off, remove your bumper to see if they are held on by clips. My guess now is that they are. |

I'm pretty sure those are glued on with no clips. If you want to be sure, you could remove the bumper and see if there is anything poking through on the back side. What I don't know is if there is a channel that the rub strip sits in, or if the bumper is smooth all the way up and down. If you have a groove under it, running around with the strip gone could look ugly.
Removing the front bumper is easy. You have 5 screws at the top under the front edge of the hood, one at each side in the wheel well, and 3-5 underneath where it connects to the lower splash guards. The rear should come off just as easily, but with nothing on the bottom. As for being JDM- no it's not. USDM Civics don't have the rub strips, but they weren't available only in Japan. Most of the other countries- like in Europe, Australia, Japan etc have Civics that came with rub strips on the bumpers. |
