Definately go with VIS or Seibon...both have great quality and the fitment is awesome! Just don't go with a cheap brand...esp if they're giving you the money to get a new hood! You don't need hood pins but it's something that is "recommended" with cf hoods! I've had a vis hood and now I have a seibon cf hood and I've never used hood pins!

I have been thinking about this for 2 weeks now, cant decide if I want the evo hood, the one with the hood scoop or the OEM version. I am leaning to the EVO style but I wonder how it will perform in the winter(from Wisconsin) Do you think the ports on top will effect anything or get brocken.

While I am on the topic how do cf hoods hold up in winter vs. there metal counterparts?

I think the OEM would look simpler and cleaner, but again just an opinion.

I wish I had my digital camera I would post some pics. I have a aggressive body kit in the front with a nice looking custom grill. In back I have a body kit for the rear bumber, side ports and a custom grill in back as well. I thought the evo hood with the grill would go good with my cars other grills. If that make sense?

Then again I want the car to look clean and sharp, I am getting rid of my terminator spoiler for a civic si spoilier.

EJ1 Freak, I really like the look of your car, I may even go with no spoiler.

The reason I was asking is because if you have a kit like you what you say you have the evo hood might look better then the oem style hood! It's kinda hard to decide without actually seeing pics though! If you're wanting to go with a more clean look then you're always safe with the oem style imo!

Thanks!

Werd, I always wanted one of their hoods. As far as options, I have one from JDMsh*t and I am very impressed with it. I still had to shim my fenders and readjust gaps, but I have yet to install a hood that fit perfect. VIS is a good option, they are probably the strongest out there, but that makes them weigh the most. That isn't much of a deal, though since nobody actually buys cf hoods for weight savings, that is just what they tell themselves. My biggest complaint about VIS is that they get stress cracks really easily, I am not sure if it is because of the type of gel coat they use or what, but especially if you run hood pins it is an issue. I have seen decent quality from Seibon, except for a friend of mine has had some bad delamination isssues with his. The manufacturer is going to take care of it, but until that situation is over, I can't make a full decision on their customer support.

I see two versions of the VIS Racing Evo Hood here are two links below:

http://www.body-kitz.com/contents/media/11...DCV-VSII201.jpg

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-97-98-CI...016674374QQrdZ1

There two diffrent designs, yet I cant find the second anywere but on ebay, wonder if it is even really a VIS racing hood?

Dont know which one I like better, kind of like the second one but I am a little bit hesitant to spend that much money on ebay. Not many stores online for buying hoods at though.

NVM I am a idiot, one is made by Seibon another by VIS. Anyways, which one of these to hoods do you guys like the most, there both around $600 bucks shipped.
