Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for a clean looking bumper that's lower than stock by about an inch or an inch and a half.

The thing is I have an APEX N1 exhaust and as it is it sticks a bit toward the right and rubs up right up agaisnt the bumper lip. I can't move the exhaust or heat it up so it's more centered (looooong story) so my only choice is to change the bumper.

Any sugestions? Anyone know of a bumper with a larger muffler cut out to clear the APEX N1 and still look aggressive?

What's a decent price to paint something like that?

thanx

a decent price to paint would be about $125- 150.. Is your exhaust a Catback or just a muffler? I could actually help you out more if you give me the year of your car too.... then I'll get back to ya

I have a N1 on my 96 civic and its suppose to kick to the right a bit. thats just the way it is but mine doesnt hit the bumper....... If you have a 96 through 00 civic. You and use the bumper for 99-00 civic coupe or sedan they both fit.

hmm, my exhaust wasn't hitting my bumper, but it was off to the left. I just stick a piece of spare radiator hosing and stuck it between the exhaust canister and the car. I have a twin loop though, so the canister was pretty big, and was pretty close to the car. Maybe you could try hammering the hangers a bit.

oops sorry forgot. I've gotta 2000 Civic Coupe EX. I've got a cat back N1 system.
Well I bet my exhaust kicks off to the side more than anyone else. The main reason is I've got a rubber mount jamed betwen the Gas tank and the exhaust flange. Basically keepping it from vibrating as much. Anyway, it's there becasue my catalytic converter rattles not becasue it hit's agaisnt the gas tank. the rubber mount is enough to keep the vibrations down.
(Has anyone's catalytic converter ever cracked after about 40,000miles of use? It could just be the quality of this particular catalytic converter. Point is it rattles.)

That's why I'm trying to look for a rear bumper for a 2000 civic that has a larger exhaust cut out for it to clear when the exhaust rattles.

Thanx again guys.

Solve your catalytic converter problem instead. That way you could take out the rubber mount that your using for anti-vibration and have your muffler fit fine.
Your catalytic converter will rattle usually for 2 reasons - either your heat shield that surrounds the cat exterior came apart (most likely) or you've got some kind of debris inside.
-If you heat shield is broken, either just rip it off, or put a couple of metal straps that you can get for $3 at autozone/pepboys and secure it back on.
-If you have something floating around inside the cat, just remove it and shake it out.
Then you can still buy a new bumper for looks, or just save the money for a good mod.
Hope this helps.

thanx for the suggestion. I took out the heat shields a long time ago. still rattles. it can't be anything inside cuz it only rattles when this thing it really shaking. Basically it takes a large amount of force to get it moving/rattling.

DRAGNFARTPIPE
how much for a direct fit converter for a 2000 civic? Have any pics? Just wondering.
Not really in the market for right now unless i find this configurationg to be a great big problem.

Thanx again all.
