i have a 1993 civic coupe, with a jdm b16a2, daily driver. ive been wanting to get into drag racing for a while and i cant decide if i want turbo or N20. i really dont have the loot to go turbo, so i was thinking nitrous. my question is, whats the best way. i know theres wet and dry, and also direct port. i'd like to get low 14's to high 13's or better. but i also dont wanna blow anything up.
when i say best setup, i mean everything. what should be done for fuel management, etc. any info would be greatly appreciated. |

Zex is the safest kit on the market. If your looking for cheap and reliable HP, go with kit. But remember, drag racing on stock parts = shit starts to break.

Hey doesn't someone make a plate system for b series engines.. that would be pretty nice.. Direct port is the best route but that plate setup is sweet.

NOS makes a plate kit, but it's only for the dual runner 2 piece manifolds on the GSR and newer H22. If you're satisfied with low 14's or high 13's, you'll be fine with a Zex dry kit at a 75 shot with everything else stock, but I would recommend upgrading your clutch...it won't last long. If you want more than that, go with a NOS direct port kit, and the necessary parts listed in the FAQ.

ok, now that i read the faq, disregaurd my last question.
however i have one more. if theoretically i was to run 100 shot, i would use direct port, correct? if so, whats the best company/ kit to go with? also, what upgrades should i do to my engine? like fuel pump, timing, clutch, whatever else? thanks for the info so far everyone. |

clutch will hold for a little while.. you might get better accel with an upgraded one though.. fuel pump and timing are clutch.. if you get fuel cut or timing is too advanced say motor go boom..
direct port just keeps more equal distribution across all four cyl's. fogger or something gets leaner as it gets closer to #4 cycl. get it pro tuned be safe |

For a 100 shot you'll definitely need an inline fuel pump, not intank. The inline will handle the elevated fuel pressures much better. I would get a clutch first, because either your clutch won't last long, or it won't hold all that power to begin with. As far as what kit is best, there are various direct port kits offered by NOS and NX that are all excellent, depending on what kind of an install you want, and how much you want to spend.
