hey ive been looking at stewart warner gauges for my future setup. the only thing is, i cant find an electric boost guage. is this because they may not make them, or do boost gauges only come in mechanical. also, how do you get a mechanical to work??

mechanical guages have a vacume line that you have to tie in with a vacume line on your car.. mechanical are a bit more responsive then electric.
good guages are the normal brands, Omori, HKS, Greddy, apexi, defi some have special features like peak/hold/warning or a playback feature autometer boost guages are ok also.. some are known to become off zero though either from shipping or use.

Some turbo timers also have boost gauges built in, so if you are going to be buying one of those you can kill two birds w/ one stone.

99% of boost gauges are mechanical. its simply a vacuum line.
the only guage i would really suggest that you get electronic would be oil and water temp/press gauges, as you don't want to run oil and water lines into your interior.
