Hondata is just a cheap form of "stand alone" but it's not a true stand alone. You burn a chip and install it in your ECU. Motec is a true stand alone
hondata (depending on what model) starts at $245 and you would still need to upgrade the base model and get the boost option and others motec starts at i think 900 goldyne starts at 700

well i know the diference on the price, thats why i wanted a hondata, but still is worth the money? i mean, i'm planing on tuning the engine and after that burn the chip leaving it that way... what do you think? 900 is no overwhelming, but still it's a lot of money to me...

if your interested in hondata, go to www.pgmfi.org . look for programs like Chrome and Uberdata. they do the same as hondata but they're free. all you have to do is get your ecu modded.
on a another note, doesn't greddy kits come with e-manage (blue box). isnt that fuel managment? if so, why would you need to spend more money on another? |

Engine management is the least of your troubles. B18c5 have semi-high compression, stock internals, in-adequate cooling to fill the needs of a turbocharger, injectors that may not flow the volume you may want...and along with that you would need upgraded fuel pump.....and I said it before, and i'll say it again, never, ever, not-never get those cheap walboro 255 fuel pumps, many a horror story have been told of faulty internal configurations in these beasts. along with fuel rail, regulator, etc. you will in the end need. I dont want to go off track though.
you COULD run a turbo kit of any type on your engine...a b series is far stronger internally than d series engines. keep in mind that you have a goal of 300-350 H.P. Can you get those numbers from a Greddy kit? Yup, after you modify just about 75% of the hardware with it at a damn near prohibitive price. The internal wastegate actuator alone will cost you close to three hundred dollars to modify for those numbers. If you want to tear the streets up....Greddy may not be the answer. Drag, F-max, rev-hard and the like come with compartmentalized hardware, such as independant wastegates and so on. These kits, though they may be more expensive, give you the stuff that will benefit your long term goal. In the end though....your turbo will only run the numbers your engine can handle....and a built, or a semi-built motor for that reason , will pull and feel alot safer and stronger than stock. the main point is to cover your by protecting your investment with even just a small build to your engine. I kenw a person that had an eclipse gs-t.....fully modified...more than a F"n rocketship with 10 G inside that motor. no lie, HKSPOWERS can vouch for this story, he was the king of the road, toast of the town, and his un-upgraded cam belt snapped....and...well...we dont hear from him anymore, I think he drives a pinto now. Truly a lesson to heed, make sure your engine can handle it and take all factors into account. Pistons, Con-rods,valvesprings, port andpolish and the like. You dont need all or any of these....but for those numbers you want, you need them.... It is expensive...but then again what isnt.As for fitment....chassis design is almost identical, civic and integra....but then I said almost, so if your kit does'nt say "made to fit --chassis code-- with -- engine type--" on it...expect some investment at mighty muffler or in your garage for fabrication.
