OK, First off I have looked at way too many kits and now my head is spinning
I haven't got a clue as to which i should get. so let me explain what I want to do
I have a stock B18C5 in a 95 civic coupe. I have about $2000-$2300 to spend on a kit and I don't want to do any engine build-up,and I'm Looking to put out about 300-350HP.Need Info or suggestions on the most complete and reliable kits and maybe best places for pricing.

Thanks,JIM

hey Jim, i too have been looking for kits. i have a jdm B16A in my 93 coupe. i have ultimatly decided to go with a greddy kit. i found a place www.city-speed.com that has the kit i need for around 2g's. it does not come with an intercooler though. as for you, i dont know which kit to recomend, but in my opinion, 300-350 hp will not be possible without any engine build up. someone back me up on this one.

by the way, nice swap!

well first off i would NOT buy a premade kit. you wont find exactly what you are looking for. ex: turbo+intercooler or manifold+intercooler, etc. another thing is yu will not make 300hp wiht stock internals on a b18c5, the compression is way too high. I would not even put a turbo on a b18c5, its just too high for even like 7psi. for that motor you could do a N/A monster. but if you really want to put a kit on that motor be my guest, and if you do then i would make my own turbo kit. cuz then you can get exactly what you want. i wouls also invest in a hondata, form www.hondata.com. try and find the post from me in the fi forum and read them, that might help ya out.

dejavu........

If your looking for a cheap turbo kit for the price range that your looking, you choices are slim. Partialy to the fact that the intercooler kit you would need would cost close to a thousand dollars extra, or you could buy a intercooler and fabricate the piping, but its not easy and not worth the trouble.

If, by chance you did NOT want to do anything internally to your engine and still wanted to get high numbers from your power plant, her are a few things

Thicker head gasket - proven to lower compression by a single point. F-max
uses 1.2 mm head gaskets in thier kits. You may think... "wouldnt that be internal?", I would say.....perhaps. Its just easy to put on ad cheap to get.

S-afc - You need fuel control no matter what you do. (greddy, drag, f-max do it)

Ignition - ditto (f-max does it)

Intercooler- If you put together your ownkit, cooder air = colder charge = no detonation....something you want to avoid.

As for turbo kits a cheap price....Turbo-kits.com has some good deals
look at...

If you want some advice from somebody that did it the hard way, and one time did it the wrong way, save an extra 800 bucks and get the f-max kit...its worth the money and in the end will save you from a major headache.
