i currently drive a vw gti vr6, but the price of european maitenance is basically forcing me to sell. im going to have around 7500 dollars to fully build up a car. im considering getting a honda civic, 92-95, and doing a b18a/b swap and then going turbo from there. i was just wondering how much i will have to build up the engine to be able to handle 350 whp, thats my goal for the high boost setting. around the street i plan to run about 280whp. also i dont know if i should attempt to build up the turbo kit on my own or just purchase a kit and upgrade from there. just wanting oppinons and help.

engine wise.. Your going to need a ground up rebuild.. pistons, rods, crank, sleeved block, cams/valvetrain being the most basic of things to replace.

you'll also need extras like axles, clutch, fuel managemant and the little things will add up.

and I think you would be better off looking into a turbo kit from a good shop that to piece one togather.

dout 7.5k is going to be enough for what you are looking for, but its a hell of a good start.

I've heard great things about drag kits and revhard kits, i guess greddy is a decent one too although they usually don't put down as much power as others. I'm putting a drag gen 3 kit on my b18b this next week. Once it's tuned next thursday i'll let you know how i feel about it. I'll be running 8 psi daily, hoping for 200-220 to the wheels.
