i was just wondering what the correct way to install a nitrous kit is for track use. ive heard the fuel lines have to be ran under the car, not through the firewall, is this correct. also, is it a must to have a purge kit. please let me know what the correct way is. the nearest track is 2 hours away. i dont want to get all the way up there and find out i did it wrong, and can't race.

IF you don't know exactly what you have to do I would recommend find someone who does and have them do it. I'm not saying your not capable, it's just that nitrous can mess alot up if not done correctly.

I think he is just having questions hooking up the kit and meeting track regulations. I have mine run under the carpet and through the firewall and have passed tech at two different NHRA tracks. I checked on NHRA's website and the only comment they have in the rulebook is that if the bottle is in the passsenger cabin, there must be a safety blowdown tube.

yeah im just worried about track regulations. i was thinking of the safety blowdown tube, but couldnt remember what it was called. whats it for/do? i will most likely be installing your basic zex dry kit. i just wanna make sure i pass tech inspection. i only wanna do the install once, know what i mean.

my bro has his run under the carpet in his camaro, and thats all he does is race it pretty much, so im sure its ok to do. he hasnt tried to pass with it yet, but everything else he has done has passed so im sure he wouldnt do anything to jeopardize it you know? the blow down tube is in case there is way too much pressure in the bottle, and it will release it OUTSIDE of the car. you have to drill through where ever you have the bottle to vent it outside the car.

yeah the blow down tube is just a safety precautionary. But if your bottle is in the trunk area, your good to go.

They are all correct. Only need a blowdown tube if the nitrous bottle is in the passenger compartment. If your track doesn't do a very thorough tech inspection, then you don't need to worry about it. You don't need a purge kit. A bottle heater is a good idea to make sure the nitrous stays in the optimum range.
