well, im saving up for a greddy turbo and intercooler kit. i know i will need some extra parts, such as boost controller, blow off valve, oil catch can, turbo timer, gauges, etc.
my question is, which brands and models would you guys use. also, the e-manage that comes with the greddy kit, can that be plugged into a laptop to alter the tune? |

If I were you I would do a revhard or drag kit, they are awesome and put down great numbers. If you go with greddy get a walbro 255 high volume fuel pump, as far as a BOV it's more personal opinion unless your running an ungodly amount boost. I like my hks ss but that's me. The apexi gauges are one of the sweetest looking gauges out there. I have autometer gauges right now but am planning on using apexi in the future. The new apexi turbo timers are pretty sweet, and as far as a controller I've heard both good and bad things about the greddy profec b. If you have any question just pm me I will try to help to the best of my ability.

don't need a boost controler.. the wastegate will control itself at about 6-7 psi.. Controller is only when your ready for more.
Emanage can be controled by laptop or the new greddy boost controller. For BOV i gotta HKS SSQV also.. Not installed yet though. ![]() Guages... ehhh.. Don't really need all of these.. but the list would be Oil temp, oil pressure, water temerature, boost, fuel pressure, exhaust gas temperature. and the biggest and most expensive the WIDE BAND O2 sensor.. nut the cheesy ones that hook up to the stock o2. What do you need an oil catch can for a turbo setup.. I mean they are nice to keep oil vapor out of the intake track but not really needed. I would also upgrade the radiator white your at it.

well.. when you do wanna up the boost you could get a boost controller (manual or electric) but no real reason to do it when your fisrt starting.

Recommended Spark Plugs
NGK BKR7E (DOHC) Stock No. 6097 Recommended Fuel Pump Walbro 255lph (also the same as the BBK and Holley fuel pump) Model Number GSS342 Recommended Clutches Clutchmasters Stage 3 / 4 (Stage 3 for lower boost street driven cars, Stage 4 for drag raced or higher boost cars.) Recommended Gauges to get when boosting Boost Gauge EGT Gauge Oil Pressure Gauge Fuel Pressure Gauge Another recommended item that I would get is a shift light. Even though it?s not really a gauge but a simple small shift light can help you be more consistent as well as prevent you from hitting the rev limiter, which could save you from an expensive mess. Hitting the rev limiter in a vehicle w/ high compression can be disastrous. Typical EGT (in farenheit) readings at 5psi on a greddy kit w/ blue box idle.............................................. ....800 40mph cruising in 5th gear.........1000 75mph cruising in 5th gear.........1250 WOT in 5th gear at 75mph..........1325 ***Readings will vary based on gearing, mph, temperature outside as well as your a/f mixture. The leaner you are the higher the temps. You do not want to exceed 1400 degrees farenheit because you will be melting things on a honda. -Rob |

To put it in basics, you need proper mixture foremost.
Air- This includes: High flow Air filter- I reccomend steel micro-thread filters. They flow very well and you can find good blitz sus knock-offs on ebay real cheap, and perform just as well as the $300 original. Intercooler piping- aim for around 2.5, always mandrel bent, no welded pipes, flow makes the world of difference. Intercooler - New intercoolers on the market use inner fin designs and make a major difference in charge air efficency and flow charicteristics. F-max is a good company. Throttlebody and intake plenum - again, porting and anglejobs/singlerunner are just as good as aftermarkets. Fuel- This includes: Injectors - depending on you range, get injectors that match your application, RC are the best for the price. Fuel pump- I am personnaly a fan of NOS pumps, there good and reliable. I'm not saying that walbro pumps are bad, but I've heard horror stories about these 255 pumps that would scare you away from them. Fuel regulator/Fuel filter/Fuel rail- very important in conjunction with you injectors. Aem and golden eagle are very good companies. Back pulses in fuel delivery are very common in unmodified fuel systems and the end is always the same. upgrade you fuel lines - make sure you do this....the fuel pressure is drastically different. Goodyear is my preferred brand. S-Afc - I'm not a firm follower of systems that are over kill (Stand-alones) if you run below 1 bar of boost. The Apexi S-afc or the one integrated vtec engagement are more than enough for what you want. Fire: This includes: MSD 6 ignition box, ditributer cap, upgraded coil, sparkplugs and wires. Really all you need and MSD should be your only choice...look on ebay. clutch wise, I dont know if you noticed it, but a stage three clutch is not very practical for a daily driver. any stage 2 clutch will due, and robs choice, clutchmasters is very good...ACT does not really provide the practicality you need or want. gauge wise, boost, air/fuel, exhaust temp, and amp should be used to monitor what you have in. Inother words, whatever you put in there that wasnt in therebefore, have a gauge to monitor it. Autometer all the way. BOV wise. I've always been a fan of greddy valves. Regardless of the HKS dual chamber design, the greddy single piston, the blitz... whatever..I just like the sound....and isnt that really what we all truely want in the kit...apart from the speed increase. if you want to hear indiviual souds of all valves, this is a fantastic website. http://www.935motorsports.com/bovmedia.htm The list can go on.........and on...........and so on...and so on.
