I have put in a turbo in my 99 Si, and I have recently tried to install a XS boost controller.

I thought I put it on right, because once I put it on and hooked up all the hoses, it stayed at the low PSI. But as i tried to turn it up, the PSI doesnt raise at all, I have opened it nearly all the way with no change.

The problem is that I cannot find any how-to's on a boost controller with an external wastegate, so i dont know if it is hooked up right (obviously its not).

Does anyone know which hoses go where with an external wastegate. or better yet, a website that shows how to do it with pictures?

well to raise the boost your going to want to close it down anyway.. not open it.. restricting air to the wastegate is what will let you to raise the boost..

Does the wastgate only have one port on it... or is there two???

And you do have it connected to a good vacume port before the thottle body.. right????

And don't those things come with a diagram.

Lets see....

Yes, it has a port on the side (where the good vacuum line is going)

A port on the top (where I thoght the hose runs to the controller)

and as far as diagrams, I think it did, but i got it a long time ago, and just now am putting it in, and i lost them. but as I remember, they were kinda shady. They told how to install it onto an internal wastegate.

You need a port in the Intercooler pipe that goes to the boost controller then to the wastegate(if its only one port, some are two)

if its all hooked up right i don't see why you haveing such a problem.

http://www.turboxs.com/SBCinstallation.htm

This is a direct link the instructions on turbo xs basic controller. The solenoid should face the hose that hooks up to the wastegate acuator, and the return line to it's route. Anything from improper sealing of the boost line to a faulty internal (spring, ball, etc.) can be the problem. I had an obscure problem with my turbo wastegate line where therw were actually hairline fractures in the line and that caused sparadic leaks and spikes. make sure to double check your lines...Hope it helps...
