The F-Max kits say they work fine on a stock bottom end plus they have their own fuel managemt. I knew a friend that had the same kit and he liked it alot but for the same price range do you think I should get something else?

If you want to modify your stock compression ratio and still run the stock kit....you may lose power and response. But on the other hand, lowering the compression is a very safe way to go when utilized with other factors internnaly as well as externally. For example, and to recommend a ratio for you, and with the understanding that you have a b16a engine, go with SRP 81 to 81.5 mm. This lower point in compression is perfect when used in conjunction with other hardware and sizes. funny thing to,your stock cc is actually 1586 cc and a 8.1 - 5 compression will change displacement to 1606 cc...to what your engine really should be rated at. The list for a successfull ratio drop is very tricky...dont let anyone tell you that by just lowering compression you have the invinceable ticket for forced induction. Tricks for this range from resized stock connecting rods...which handle better velocity and are ten times cheaper and can handle thier own just as well as aftermarkets, upgraded thrust bearings, tapered intake and tapered(down) exhaust valves...the list goes on. If you want more tips, ask and I'll tell you more...synergy is the answer.

sure you could make good power with 8.3 to 1 and alot of boost.. But the car would be a dog around town. So its not recomended for a daily driver
