just reading in the boost section on clubsi.com im a bit concerned. it seems like most on that site are boosting using the Greddy turbo kit. and most are making under 200 WHP. by september i want to be boosting, but it seems awfully expensive for what? 30 horsepower?? the shop i will go through will use their own put together turbo "kit". i know that tuning is a huge part of making power, but shit, under 200 horses seems LAME. the shop i go through (AUTOWERKS) primarily uses the Drag Turbo kit. so the little Greddy turbo will not be used. a T3/T04 will be used instead. comes with a front mount, and they dyno tune it with a hondata system. it will cost me just about $4k. but hopefully i make ATLEAST 200 horses. there are all the other odds and ends also. i was assured it is a complete kit, and my vehicle will retain its reliability as long as it is maintained.

as far as i know all i really need is a clutch, and that is being taken care of this week. (the ACT XTSS) i supposed i am just concerned i wont make the kind of power i am hoping for. and i think i am being realistic. 220-240 Whp range. please, i need some reassurance.

Well if I were you I would not order that lightweight flywheel, primarly you want longer gears to stay in boost and not shorten them with a lighter flywheel. The clutch would be a good investment. Now as far as making under 200whp thats because they do not BUILD before boost, they boost then break shit then build. If i was in your position, buy a bare b16a block (with crank, girdle and main caps) and sleeve, lower compression, and build for boost. Its pretty much pointless to strap on a turbo kit to a motor that can barely handle 8psi.

Well if you wanted to make a fast car with no money you should have bought either a domestic or a RC car. This hobby isnt cheap man. And if you do it half ass and go cheap it will break, remember that. Its better and cheaper (although it may not seem like it at the time) to do it right the first time then it is to do it the cheap way 2 or 3 times.

Youve already got a swap so your faster than most civics out there. Now you just need to start a build up. Just start collecting parts and then throw it all together. You can have a 12sec car overnight. It takes time, some people I know who have 11 sec hondas has taken them years of breaking shit and saving up to get where they are now. Or you could just take out a 10,000 dollar personal loan and do it all.

yeah, good point. lifes a bitch. i dunno what i want to do. i guess find out prices and shit. on builds and shit. theres a shop about 20 minutes away called payne technologies> they do alot of good work, but they are extremely expensive. the have been featured in numerous magazines and what not. i should just go down there and pick their brains a little bit.

well be ready to spend up to 3k on the bottom end alone. Sleeving is not cheap. The sleeves themselves are about 600-1k and having them installed isnt cheap either. If your going to do that you should just have them put in everything at once, sleeves, matched pistons, etc, etc. Then when you are all built youll be impressed when your running 11s or 12s pushing 25lbs of boost! It may seem much now, but just take it on little by little, doing everything step by step. Maybe take up a 2nd job? Like i said this hobby isnt cheap. Oh and dont forget to run your car at the track 13.99 and lower you need a helmet, 11.99 and lower you need a 6 point roll cage

I've seen 220HP on a stock D16y8 Block using A hondata for tuning. It's all about tuning..

although mike is right about the tuning wise, Denotation can be caused by a number of issues, too much fuel, too little fuel, etc, etc. But stock honda sleeves can only hold so much pressure. to put down some serious numbers you have to upgrade
