well here I am again..I might as well live in this forum

I ended up buying that turbo kit I posted about a couple weeks back. Turns out it's from a GSR though..Anyone know if GSR turbo kit will fit on an EK chasis (EJ8)? I looked all over HT and a couple other forums but couldn't find anything definate. From the few responses I did get, some said that intercooler piping wouldn't fit, intake mani to FMIC won't fit, downpipe wouldn't fit, and some said it would fit without any problems. I don't regret the buy since I got a good deal on it, but I do wish to fit it on my car =P

Also, does anyone know of any good write ups on turbo install on 6th gens? My bro said that the manifold and piping bolt on stuff is no problem for him, but he's not too clear on the fuel and electrical wiring part. I asked a local shop (intercrew), and they quoted $700 to install the kit and fab whatever piping doesn't fit, and $600 for just the install without any custom piping =/.

thanks guys
jess

I was able to put a 99-00 SI kit on an LS Integra, so you shouldn't have too much of a problem putting that kit on your car. More than likely there will need to be some cutting and fabricating on the charge pipe and the down pipe, but not much.

The charge pipe going to the throttle body will not fit, that is for sure. The GSR throttle body sits lower because of the dual stage intake manifold. As far as the rest of the piping, I don't know. The exhaust manifold won't fit your motor either, assuming you are still single cam. As far as the intercooler piping, I'm not sure if that will fit or not.

Good point on the intake manifold. As far as the turbo manifold, he has a b20, so he should be fine with that part.

Hrmm, so is it the intake manifold to fmic piping that won't fit for sure? Maybe I should keep some of the goodies, sell the kit as a GSR kit and buy another SI kit.

The intercooler to throttle body piping will not fit, for sure. The rest should be ok.

quickest thing you can do is start putting the pipe in and see how close it fits. You can buy single mandrel bends on ebay all day long, or you can go to local auto parts store and get radiator hoses with the right bends you need. I've got a million bends laying around in my garage and hope to redo my intercooler piping with stainless tonight. I'll have lots left over. It's all custom anyway because I'm using a starion intercooler.

If you need ANY help with your turbo install, email me (atorp@amteam.com) or post here - these guys are smart.

Congrats on your purchase!
