an s200 with boost isnt exactly a "chip with boost" Hondata is true engine management. it lets you control every aspect of the motor. you can get s200 with out boost, but since you are planning to go boosted it would be a good idea to add that option on. basically its a stand alone system that plugs directly into your harness. It uses a stock obd1 ecu( most commonly p28, p72 and p08) and adds a chip...the chip contains the maps that the car will run on. the hondata unit controls the setup and allows for tuning. s200 sets a seperate box outside the ecu that you can connect a datalog cable up to and you can use a romulator and datalogging at the same time to tune the car. You can control vtec crossover with timing maps...boost sections of the map included, what sensors read and what sensors dont. Basically every function of the ecu is controlled by the hondata.
s200 baseline is 285 then boost option is another 200. then if your running an obd2 car you need to get a obd2(a or b depending on year)-obd1 conversion harness which will be right around 115, which if you were planning on running a chipped ecu you would have to buy anyway. so all in all it would cost right around 600 but that would be good for anything you would decide to do. you decide you wanna build the motor, get a 3bar map sensor and go all out, its still good. you just re tune.
DONT QUESTION MY AUTHORTAYYY!!!!! hehehe lol
