ok i'm dropping the block off tonihgt to get honed ($40). I got rich overnighting the parts. So the only thing i need to get now is a piston and an OBD1 ls ECU. i thought i had one on the way but the kid flaked out on me. So i called acura and they don't have any pistons in stock so they have to order it. If i go by there tonight (most likey won't) They said they MIGHT be able to have it by friday. I think i'm going to wait until like thursday to go there and order it.

So all in all i really just want the car back on the road and boosted. I'm going to be alittle disapointed if i can't get the ECU and shit in because i don't want to have the turbo and shit laying around after i just spend 1500 on it.

Well i dropped the block off. I must say i'm glad i found this shop. The guy is really cool bull shitted for about an hour. He took me in th eback into the shop and was showing me some of the shit he was working on. When i walked back there it was like motor heaven. he has 5 awsome race motors on stands that he was biulding, Non of them push less then 600 hp. Has a v8 twin turbo porshe they were building 800+ whp. Anyway he showed me the hone machine and it wasn't what i expected. it was really big. when we did erics it was just and atachment on a big uitility drill. This was a 6' by 10' cabin that you bolt the block into and it's all computerised. Anyway i'll try and take pic's off the shit when i pick the block up tommarow.

Yeah, machine shops use large machines to hone and bore...not just a drill attachment. Their shit is precise.

Most people that fix up cars, hondas especially, don't make 50k+ a year. But if you can't afford to do it, then you don't belong doing it. Modding a car always leads to more problems, you don't want to have to take out another loan to fix it.

Well i always have money to keep it running. I just can't get away with dumping5 to 7 grand a year into my car. Shit it's only may and i've already dumped about 3k into the car. This is money that couls have been put towards the house i'm buying next spring. KC has been chewing my ass off about the car latley, the money that i've been putting into it instead of other shit (she does have a good, just don't tell her that) and just wants me to sell it. I tell her that it's cheaper to fix my car and have what i want, Then spending 30k on a new car that i'm still going not going to be 100% happy with and want to mod it anyway. O and i don't make 50k a year either, but i make shit happen.

My bad, I should have clarified. That wasn't to you, it was to the people who take out loans to modify cars...one of my friends just took out a 17k loan to build a show car.

17k loan to build a car?!? Whoa, Not many people think of cars as a timed long process i see.

I agree with Brett on this one, Ive put 8k in my car over 2 years granted its alot just between suspension and exterior but if you dont have a daily driver besides your project car you have no choice but to take it a step at a time.

Right now im setting the mods aside till im out of school. I dont intend on working on the motor being when this one shits out im getting another..whatever that may be whatever time it happens! Im in no rush.. When your impatient with cars is when shit goes wrong.
