Well I found the kit at jacksonracing.com. for 2595 and then went digging and found the kit for 2581 shipped.

I haven't dug anymore than that thus far, but I will be.

I asked Steve's opinion (from hondaswap) since he had an 00 Si that he supercharged, and he said he still misses that car, the SC whine and the power it had after he sold it. I don't think I'm going to regret it one bit, I just want to be boosted and this will be much simpler to install and maintain.

i think you need to go back to your research..sc's are not cheaper to maintian..what happens when you mess up an impeller wheel? dont tell me it doesnt happen...ive seen 4 or 5 sc's with messed up[ impellers. now easier to install..you obviously have never installed one. they are far from easy to install...id take a turbo over a supercharger any day. i make more power at 5psi than you will at 10. and...you don thave the option of upping the boost much more than that. fully built...with engine management(not fmu) i doubt you will make much over 300hp with the jr kit. i make that at low boost. just something for you to think about. i dont think you did enough research. my whole build..cost less than what you are going to spend mainting that motor. and one other question...why are you running a front mount on a jrsc kit? its a roots type blower which means its going to pull air in through the throttle body...not force it through the throttle body. the only time you would need a fm is on a centrifugal(sp?) supercharger. dont worry bout what i know though...i dont have a dyno sheet or a track time to back anything up.

P.S. look at my sig..and you can see what a turbo will do.

it'll give you some power and it probably will be fun, but i'd just rather go turbo. for the money you could have more power w/ turbo, and there's room to upgrade if you want more power later. superchargers are for 6+ cylinders IMO.

I know what a turbo will do Resistence, your post makes it seem like I haven't been considering a turbo or researching it, ever.

I'm not interested in making full on power. I simply want 6 psi, and I want this to be daily drivable. 300 hp in my daily driver will not fly. I need the gas mileage for my weekend job.

The drivability of a turbo depends on the size you get, and you will be stuck with it if you get the wrong size turbo for your application. You still have to wait for the turbo to spool, you still have to wait for your engine to get into it's powerband. Where as the JRSC adds instant boost anywhere in the powerband.

You're mixing up my saying "easier" to install with the thinking of my saying that they are easy to install period. Which I never said, the charger will not be as difficult to install as a full on turbo kit with FMIC, pump, vac lines, drilling and tapping the oil pan, exhaust work, wastegate, boost controller, chipping a p28, etc. But yes, two guys with experience took two-three days before they had the engine running again. I'd expect about a week for myself, but I don't plan on installing it myself anyway.

If your power gain is what you say it will be after putting it in...ok - not being negative either.

However with that amount of money it wouldnt be that difficult to produce a N/A motor with 40+ horsepower to your wheels.. But if you wanna boost, Have fun. I just hope you dont regret it.
It's kinda cool, cause Steve had his car dyno'd after he put the SC on and it dyno'd 193/138 which is right around where JRSC says it should be. 50 hp gain is enough for me. Might tug me down into the 14s pretty easily.

There's an SC upgrade kit on superchargesonline.com for 600, so I can add more boost later on after the engine gets new internals.

but that's even further down the road.

Anyway, if I go NA i'll have to spend the entire time in the upper powerband just to see my investment paid off. Normal driving conditions for me are rev to 4000-5000 and shift. I don't want to have to wind the engine out every time to make the power.

sorry guys.. but how do most poeple learn... by experiance.. you really can't tell people "you should do this and this". I have people tell me all the time should do "this and this"...... But i don't, [cartman voice] Cause i do what i want [/cartman voice]

You seem pretty determined to get a SC.. I say goodluck with it. That determination is really what you need to build a good car.. or atleast one that you will enjoy.

yeah I would have recomended a turbo also but i'm just plain hell bent on them.

i think ur making a good choice. back when i had my 04 si i was thinking about a jr supercharger. its a good idea in my eyes. theres a never ending arguement about turbo vs supercharger so dont worry about it. do what u want and u will be happy. ur gonna get like 50hp gain across the rpms from the supercharger, thats a nice little get up, plus some other bolt ons and stuff and ull have urself about 75 to 80hp for like 3g's. not bad if u ask me. the cars light, is a good car, and will be able to show a lot of ppl up. personally i like ur thinking and its got me thinking again about jr. well actaully no, im an all motor ls man right now. but maybe in the future lol. good luck man. i wish u well
