I'm going to boost the Si.
How you may ask? Greddy turbo? Edelbrock turbo? 75 shot nitrous? How James? Nah, I'm going to be different. I'm going to pick myself up a jackson racing SC. Pump 6 psi of boost through the Self contained roots blower and have fun with the extra 40-50 horses on tap. Why you ask? I dunno... to be different and still have boost. The cheapest turbocharger kit that I have found is 3600 bucks, and I don't have the will to go parts shopping to get a better deal piecing things together. I found a site the other night with a JRSC shipped for just under 2600 bucks. It'll run an FMU (pleh...) at 6 psi. All I will need is: my tune up first and foremost a new fuel pump to source a FMIC and piping boost, temp, A/F gauges When it's all said and done I'll probably still spend the 3600, but that includes everything not just the kit. Don't try to talk me out of it, don't tell me that the SC takes power to make power. I already know this. I've already got a header sourced and will buy it as soon as I can, and a turbo would delete that anyway. But anyway, What do you all think (besides anything negative)? I think it'll be fun. ![]() |

you're gonna be upset when you realize you're limited by the JRSC for real power

I know you don't want to hear negative feedback but I'd rather go N/A.. you could add 40-50hp by building the motor..

2600 for parts only?
I bet it can be done! the JSRC's are ok kits, i researched them for a long while and while they are limited, the Race kit for the 2002 EP puts out ok numbers. I have no idea what the race kit could do on a 99-00 SI |

If your power gain is what you say it will be after putting it in...ok - not being negative either.
However with that amount of money it wouldnt be that difficult to produce a N/A motor with 40+ horsepower to your wheels.. But if you wanna boost, Have fun. I just hope you dont regret it. |
