There is a saying that says "Curiosity killed the cat" so i was very curious to know how much power my SOHC non vtec was putting to the ground.. Went to the dyno for some baseline runs and to check where the hell my A/F was at, if i was lean or rich..etc...
I ran into some problems at the dyno(turbo blew the oil seals Plus there was an exhaust leak around) so we had to unstrap the car and go home with just baseline runs. Quick rundown on my setup. D16Y7 Motor Stock D16Y7 head D16Z6 Intake Manifold Block--> 8.5:1 CR pistons and Eagle rods ARP head studs KMS Engineering Block Guard Turbo setup consists of: LoveFab Minime manifold T3 turbo (.48/.60) 3"DP and exhaust Turbonetics Racegate(42mm) FMIC 2.5" charge pipes RFL BOV DSM 450cc P06 on Uberdta with a Basemap. 1 bar of boost(spiking to 16) Car made 237whp and 198lb/ft Im re building the turbo so we can go back and do the real tunning on the car. We expect around 250-260whp(tuned) at the same boost level and hopefully close to 300 on 20 PSI..all on a Stock Y7 head. All runs where made on 93 octane and in 4th gear thanks for looking, and any comments are welcomed. ![]()

very nice.. what kinda A/F did you have going on.. running pretty rich.. bet you will see another 10-15hp with a good tune.
but maybe a hair shy of 300 at 20psi

those are some nice #'s for a sohc. with that turbo id bet right around 280-290hp at 20psi..but i wouldnt push it much past that. that turbo isnt good for much more, it will just turn into a flame thrower. my baseline run at 1 bar was 384hp and i spun the tires on the dyno, so 4th gear was a good idea for you
. good luck man...and if you need any help...ill be more than happy to help. |

At iddle it was 14.9-15.0.. I just got my own Innovate LM-1 yesterday so next time i go to the dyno i will have it in the DP. Quote:
I think we can get to the 260whp range at the same boost cause we didnt touch the timing maps and thats where most of the power is at.. the first run was 220whp, we let the car cool down for 20 minutes, changed the spark plugs and it went up to 225whp...then we just took 5% off the fuel and it bumped to 237whp.at that point we took the car off the dyno cause we noticed it was blowing a lot of oil thru the crompressor inlet. There was oil in the dynos floor..lol first run we used it to just dry the tires since it was raining..next 2 runs we had to stop cause the car was spinning tires at the dyno..so the "1st" good run was basically the 4th...we just did 7 runs and unstrapped the car. Temperature on the Dyno was 88 degrees(HOT) and the humidity was at 55%..

that temp isnt that bad...here in cali we dyno cars at 95+ degrees and thats outside. a little hint on the dyno...air the tires up to max pressure...low pressure in tires on the dyno creates drag and also doesnt grip the dyno wheels as well. what brand pistons are you running?

Very nice! I like those numbers- especially on a non-VTEC head. What cam are you running? Stock?

I like a lot the torke curve too..It maintains torque above 180lb/ft from around 4100rpms till 6600rpms here's the dyno sheet http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddim...zMXk1NDE%3D.jpg
