I guess from reading your replies you have a goal which is the first step for anything.

questions you need to ask yourself

1. how much fucking money do i have, then times that by 5 and thats what it will prolly cost.

2. what is my HP/TQ goals or how fast in 1/4

3. do i want the speed all the time and money, or can i live with a little bottle action

4. do i want more reliable(notice i said more not actually reliable) HP with a NA motor or do I want a little less reliable with forced induction and have less limitations to HP/TQ.

as was said earlier once you add HP/TQ things will break quicker.

Personally if I were you i would buy a t3/t4 kit off of ebay for 500, put a cat back on it, and run it. If your car doesnt smoke(lose oil from ring blowby) your rings will be fine with low boost. Tuning is your friend and detonation is your enemy.

see how that kicks you in the pants first and if it isnt enough(it never is after time) then pull the motor, port the heads, put a high flowing intake, some h-beam rods, and dish pistons and turn the boost up.

Either way NA or boosted you are going to spend money for the fun you have mashing in the throttle.

Do some research on combo's others are running and see which one fits you. always remember there is always someone else who has done it first.

so you make your choice ... displacement or forced induction.

Either way i am sure it will put a smile on your face.

honestly...do not go greddy...they leave you with no options...you can only run mitsu turbos without replacing the whole manifold and turbo set up. greddy kits dont let you upgrade without replacing both. now unless you wanna spend money like i did, im buying a one-fab top mount manifold to replace my ram horn style manifold, and im buying a pt67 and a tial 44mm gate...im going to spend in the neighbor hood of 3g's for this upgrade. now if your not worried about what you spend...then hey do what you want...but im trying to get you to do it right the first time...that way you dont have to spend as much to upgrade later.

no a rev hard kit is a good kit. or full race but i dunno if you wanna spend that kind of money. and i dont think they make a d series kit. or you could build your own...which is what i recommend...then you can pick and choose the parts you want.
