550s will suport roughly 325-350 whp on stock rail pressure.
a larger pump is necessary. your friend is an idiot for not using one. it may work now, but eventually, its going to starve his motor one time, and then, boom. bye bye. your debate for fmu vs standalone is simply unjust. fuel is fuel. if its not getting to the rail- its not getting to the rail. what gets it there? the pump.
