the fmic is not open like a filter element.. it acts like a radiator for your intake air.... ive found that my car ran alot better in the snow since it was covered in ice and making the air extremely cold. colder air makes more power. as for your filter it just depends on your location if it will be prone to being soaked in snow.

I spent last winter in Ohio and my car loved it. The CAI was the loudest I've ever heard it and it just sucked up the cold air like it was supposed to. In most cases you should be fine, just make sure your filter isn't in the direct path of snow coming into your engine bay.

People actually put Ice to the intercooler when they want more performance(At the track) so i guess Snow wont hurt you at all..
Now water...I dunno if it can be sucked through theIC pipint to the Intake manifold.(In case u encounter a flood)

Well i don't think anyone would be sucking water thru and IC piping because they would notice a boost leak/spike and fix the coupling before hand. Sucking water in the air filter. It could happen but on most civics the filter is positioned in an ok spot and sits very high from the ground.

As for cooling. You can pack dry it on the intake manifold and on the front and rear of the IC go gain good power for runs at the track. But don't leave it there while driving.
