ladies and gents.. these products DO work, now i know thats a shocker so let me explain...

first they dont work as a power booster so much as a fuel ecomomy thing.

best way i can explain it is this a normal intake is like a 2 liter bottle of water..turn it over and watch how it chug's out.. now refill it and spin it .... get a sweet whirl pool going and watch how the flow is increased because of the spin

i've seen this demonstration along with smoke being blown through a clear pipe.. then with this "turbonator" installed in the pipe and smoke blown through.. a co worker installed this on his car and now he gets somewhere like 35 extra miles to a tank

that being said.. no they dont work the way their marketed as a power increaser.. if so not much..

and lastly i wouldn't stick something up in my intake with plastic fin's period.. too risky

I just installed a whistle-tip on my hb and not only did it increase the fuel economy by 50 miles per tank, I'm now pushin' 600hp outa my d15.

I've got 2 words for ya:

if it worked it would have been used in production cars a LONG time ago. it doesn't work.

NO THEY DON'T INCREASE POWER, NO THEY DON'T INCREASE FUEL ECONOMY (this includes the tornado)

eric, stop watching infomercials.

tell him i said he's wrong and he doesn't know what he's talking about.

i've seen independent tests the rate the tornado on the dyno and through multiple tanks of fuel on 3 different vehicles. no gains in mpg or horsepower, as a matter of fact there are losses in both categories.

yup, i'll look it up when i get home tonight. what your buddy is experiencing is called the placebo effect. if he is seeing gains in mpg it sure isn't from the tornado. driving habits are variable and so are conditions that effect mpg.
