I am dropping a Garrett t3/t4 into my 99 Si. I want an easy way to control the boost. I am looking at the turboxs controllers, and I saw that they have the standard controller...and then a performance controller for only like $30 more. What is the difference between the two and does anyone have any recommendations on which one to get?

Manual coltrollers? just about any of them will do. They are all basicly the same.

electric
Simplest one is the HKS ez

If your going to buy a manual controller then you are wasting money in my opinion (help me for having one). You could get everything you want right at lowes to do it for like 30 bones . I would go electronic.

I think the only difference between the two is the fact that the performance one has an in-cockpit switch, which means that it is a dual stage, where you can choose from two settings instead of one, while the other may just be an one stage, engine-only ajustable. If your going to put a t3/t4 setup on your engine, electronic may be the lesser headache. Alot of electronic boost controllers have safe switches and such to do a job we would'nt think needs to be done....also looks alot cooler....gets the ladies....impresses the passengers...distracts the driver.

exactly...these electronic boost controllers include sensors and hookups and digital readout in-cockpit. very useful. spend a hundred or so on a new manual controller or get a used one off ebay for 150 or less...heck...maybe a new one.
