need help, car running crappy

for about a week now the car has been acting funny. when i step on the gas the car accelerates, but when it hits 1500, it starts bogging. then around 3000 it stops and runs ok. well today i went to autozone to get a new cap and distributor, and when i was leaving it did the same bogging thing, then it stalled. once i got it stared, i tried driving and the car wouldn't go past 2,000 rpm's. under load or not. i replaced the cap but couldnt get the rotor off, and it was still doing the same thing. i think it may be more than the rotor. any info would help. please HELP! thanks everyone.

Try plugs and plug wires too.

also change the fuel filter and air filter

all fixed, changed the IAC valve, tps sensor, and entire wire harness

Kinda sounds like it's running too rich because of an oxygen sensor being fucked.

Or at least that was the reason my car use to do that exact thing.
