It can be a hundred things. Does it come on as soon as you start the car and stay on forever? Or does it only come on at certain times? What year/ trim code/ motor is in it?
Answers to these will help to figure it out.

you need more info than that. There is absolutely no way anyone can tell you what's wrong without knowing what code the ECU is throwing.

This is true but I can eliminate things without knowing the code, therefore leaving a shorter list to guess from when he gets the code. Because even with the code there will still be many possibilities, I deal with this every day and believe me it isn't as simple as plug it in and it tells you exactly what to fix, it only gives a starting point.

Dragon1952 Here let's just start with this, what year is the car so I can tell you exactly how to find the problem with 30 seconds of your time and a paperclip. Because the person that started this thread started it on Nov 18th of 03 so I'm pretty sure you're not gonna get much help from them, this was there only post they'er not coming back =)

To elaborate a little further, here is how you jump your ECU. Your ECU is sitting behind the carpet just in front of the passenger door. Above it is a few wires and plugs that look like this:

With the key removed from the ignition, pull out the one with TWO wires, when you do you will notice it's what looks like a plug but there is no other end to plug it into, take a piece of wire and jump that plug like so:

Then put key in ignition, and turn to the "on" position, this is all the way forward but without starting the car, DO NOT START THE CAR.

Your MIL or CEL will start to flash, first long flashes, so count them. Then will follow short flashes, count them seperate.

Long flashes are "TEN" short flashes are "ONE" So if you had 2 long flashes and 4 short, that is a code 24. Two "tens" and 4 "ones"

Here are your ECU CODES
