What this member from one of my other boards had to say really got me thinking about sellin the hatch. Here are his thoughts, just thought i would share as i found it very intersting!Hope others learn something as i did.I also think his closing sums it up perfectly.

"First and foremost: This is not an one platform is better than an other thread! We all know the Civic can never lose.

This is an "educational" thread about FWD 4 cyclinder Nissans and how they compare to Hondas. Please leave out discusion and questions about 240SXs, 300ZXs, Maximas. The reason for this thread is because I have noticed some lack of knowledge about FWD Nissans. That and I saw a thread that said FS: '94 Sentra, if this was a Teg or a Civic everyone would be all over it. I may have some misinformation, but I am only going to search only so much.

The cars, all SR20DE powered:

B13: '91 - '94 Sentra SE-R, NX2000
B14: '95 - '97 200SX SE-R
B15: '98 - '00 Sentra SE
All Infiniti G20s

Base models for the '91 - '97 cars are also ideal for swaps.

The engines for swaps.
SR20DET there are basically a few versions of this motor. As most of you know the RWD version from the 180SX and Silvia. The motor to swap into the FWD cars all start their lives in AWD cars, it bolts directly to USDM SE-R trannys. There are basically two AWD versions of this motor:

Bluebird and Avenier 190+ish hp (can't remember) 370 cc injectors, 8.5 compression, T-25 turbo
GTI-R 227hp / 200lb torque 440 cc injectors, 8.3 compression, T-28 turbo, Independent Throttle Bodies, better lubrication, ect, ect.

VVL engines, Nissan's answer to VTEC.

SR16VE - 173hp @ 7800rpm / 119lb torque @ 7200rpm
SR20VE - 187hp @ 7000rpm / 145lb torque @ 6000rpm
SR16VE N1 RARE - 197hp @ 7800rpm / 134lb torque @ 7600rpm

So what's my point? These engines are really cheap, considereing what you get HP wise out of them. The most expensive Nissan engine (save the N1) is the SR20VE at $1900. You can get DET's for $1200-$1500 all day, with turbo, manifold and injectors. Front clips for $2000 and less.

So where do you turn for tuning? The easiest thing to do in the Nissan community is send off the computer to JWT (JimWolfTechnologies) and bam $600 later you are all set. You can play around with S-AFC too, and bypass getting the comp reprogrammed.

Turbo for NA even if you don't do a swap the stock SR20DE is a perfect canadate for a turbo. Can you say 20 psi and a 100 shot on stock bottom end? You can either use a JDM manifold or there are a few custom made ones out there. 300+ whp is easily attainable.

Tranny
SE-R trannys all came with LSD, you must aquire one if doing a swap into a non SE-R car.

Suspension
B13 full independent.
B14 and B15 rear beam, but still damn good.
The aftermarket is there, can the best Nissan out handle the best Honda, probably not. But for some reason I think that Nissan's have great suspension. *cough* STS Champ *cough*

In closing, no my car is not the greatest in the world. No FWD Nissans are not the best FWD car ever made, because Nissans suck. But don't pass them by either, especially when they can be modded rather cheaply and perform as good as brand H, dare I say for less money. Just an alternative, not the answer."

Its still FWD though .. haha.. j/k.

Sill would rather build a civic.. I'm sure they are still alot lighter than the nissan counterpart.

i thought i read somewhere that you really cannot make over 200horses on a stock SE-R tranny. yeah, something like that. they compared it to honda. the nissans had much stronger bottom ends, but their trannies were shit compared to the honda's. something like that. i will try to find tha mag.

I used to have a 94 maxima SE; never modified it at all, but it was a pretty damn good car...

Go find it. In the meantime, I'll go ahead and tell my old roommate that his 250whp and 250lbft SE-R (at the wheels) has a transmission that won't hold up. He beats on it a LOT, and hasn't had any problems. His only limitation for power right now is injector size.
