When I first got the basket case . . I mean rex, the ignition system was sitting in the passanger seat.
It is the msd 6 setup that converts the car to have an external coil.
Anyways, I hooked everything up finally and got it to run great.
Since we didn't have any room up front, the other day, we re-located the battery to the rear of the car as well as the ignition box.
I wired everything back up to were I THOUGHT it should have gone and now it won't start.
I'm not even getting power to the starter.
I'm lost.

As far as the re-location goes, here's what I did.

The battery is located in the rear pas. side of the car.
The ground goes from the bat. to the spare tire bracket. (great ground)
The power wire (4g) runs from the bat to the engine compartment.
*The bat (pos and neg) also connects streight to the msd box (as the directions said to do.)
When the 4g wire pokes through the firewall, I've got a distrabution box splitting the wire into 2 more.
I ran one of the wires into the factory fuse box were the old pos. terminal went then spliced into the starter.
The other wire from the block goes streight into the starter.

Shouldn't that work?

I thought so. Now I've got a one ton paperweight on my hands again and it's driving me to my freakin' breaking point again!

Do any of you have any suggestions on this one?

I really need to get it started again to check for vac. lines again!

Thanks!

ground... need better ground.. I would run a ground from the battery up to where it grounds in the front of the car or to the factory engine ground. ... doesn't hurt to have mutiple grounds.. And i bet with the way you have it it doesn't have a good enough engine to chassis ground to get power to the starter.

Question though.. do you haver lights and stuff. Seems like you should But the ground isn't good enough to get the energy required to start the car to the starter..

Things aren't always exact between cars..

And i'm sorry but thats a poor idea for a ground.. yeah it may work.. but thats doesn't make it good.

I WOULD (in my opinion) Run atleast another 4 guage wire up to the front of the car.. split it off with one going to the stock chassis ground.. and one using the engine/tranny to chassis ground.. Then maybe also have one using your spare tire ground.

Thanks for the input so far you guys. Here's the deal though.
I researched the bat. relocation install at homemadeturbo.com and they recomend using the spare spot as a grounding point in the crx! That's the only reason I didn't make my own.

As for the front engine to chasis ground. Maybe that IS the prob. I havn't run that yet.

I'm making that one as we speak.

As for power to the rest of the car, yes, I do have it.
I don't have any lights in the front end to check since I'm waiting for them all to be shipped.

I do have rear tails, reverse, door dinger, dash, etc.

The thing I don't get it that when I turn the key, I hear the injectors doing their thing but I've got absolutely NO responce from the ignition (starter) That's what freaked me out. Not even a click. I just hope I didn't hook the wires up incorrectly. There is like 6 or 8 for just the msd box. What a headeach!
Oh well . . I'll toss a few more grounds here and there and get back.

I know what a pain in the ass this is trying to diegnose a problem by just reading so let me make a quick diagram of what I've got and post it up. You can check that and give me your opinions.

Thanks again!

Sorry for the 1/2 assed attempt at the diagram but here is EXACTLY what I've got!

* I take it I need to incorporate a "trans to chassis" ground as well?!
* Do I need to make a "jumper" wire to go from the wire that goes into the fuse box to the wire that goes to the starter? I'm not too sure . . .

I thought that maybe I'm just looking at an open circuit but I'm not sure.
I don't want to fry anything trying it though . . that's why I ask, lol.

* should I ground the valve cover to the chassis as well? (nothing there right now)

And lastly:

* By looking at my diagram, can anyone see an error or does it look right?

Something is def. wrong . . I just need an outside look at it to be able to put my finger on it. I can't think straight anymore, lol

Thanks again!!!

I've got to *bump* this one. I have to get this thing running asap.
Now that we're talking about the 04 meet, I want to guarantee a running car to get me there.

ok.. Looks ok to me..

I'm just thinking that the previous owner with all the other messed up work didn't replace any of the grounds. and your not actually getting a ground to the engine. Hence the starter isn't getting any juice because of open curuit..
