ok, i dont know if this is the cold playing games with me or what. the airbag light came on the other day. didnt think much of it at the time driving to work. my battery died and reset the ecu when i started it again the light was off (im assuming the ecu reseting killed the light. i drove for 2 days and then it came on again this morning. but the funny thing, when i started it up after work it was off again, and this time the battery didnt die. the car was in a small front end accidnet about 2 years ago. nothing major, none of the bag deployed, hell i olny dented my hood a little. never had this problem before. where should i look. i cant find my repair manual or my owners manual right now. wheat causes this light to come on and any ideas where to start. thanks...btw '97 ex coupe, 149,xxx miles, with a dying battery.

Mine came on last year. It's a common problem in Civic's, and means something is wrong with the airbag unit. We brought the car in to Honda and the repair cost over $400 dollars I believe, maybe more. Yikes.

Im with this man, take your car to the local honda dealer, might be costly, but you dont wanna play around with the SRS/Airbag unit, cause if the wrong wire is touched, static elect., or cut, guess what? Boom, airbag hits you at 200mph+, I think i would rather pay 400 dollars than have my face look smooshed in.

Be smart and have a professional Honda technician look at your car.
