Threw a #1 today while cruising on the highway in to work. Had been driving for about 15 min when it went off. I watched the A/F gauge hover on rich...stinking limp mode. Greddy FCU light was on and blinking as it should. It's been about 4 months since I had any MIL trouble (last time it was #45, but seemed to solve that once wastegate/boost controller were fixed).

I don't have my Helms here at work, but I think #1 is the PHO2 sensor, right?

Well, since i've done nothing to my setup in months I can't figure out what might be wrong. Any troubleshooting tips for the O2 sensor? I'll check good ol' helms when I get home...

thx

MIL code 1 is the Primary 02 sensor.

Most likely, it just went out.

could be...I reset it when I got to work...waiting for it to come back.

In the mean time, it probably wouldn't hurt to actually solder the connections rather than wire nut! If it's intermittent, that may be the culprit.

yeah if you using a wire nut it may have lost a conection for a moment and throw the code.

spent some time soldering the wires this weekend, and no change for the better. The a/f gauge actually reads full lean or nothing at all. Sensor must be shot...
On cold starts, a/f starts out rich for a couple seconds, then makes its way to full lean way before car is warmed up. I'm picking up a new o2 sensor tomorrow when I take it into the dealership for the 45k service. I hope to have the new one hooked up by thursday...we shall see!

Anyone else have to relocate their o2 sensor?

Dealership wanted $200 for the o2 sensor!! Instead, I got one from Denso for $50, since it's what Honda uses.

Anyway, i replaced the sensor, and the a/f is still buried in the lean.

I guess I just gotta check all the wires to the ecu...

Could the actual a/f gauge itself cause a malfunction?

I don't think it could cause a malfunction but it could be wrong. Try hooking up a different one to check.

Man get yourself a wideband o2 sensor and a SAFC and tune that stuff...You wont have any more problems, Honda 02 sensors suck with boost..

I'm pretty sure it's not the sensor, since I replaced it and got the same problem. After all, the stock sensor lasted almost a year with boost... I'm replacing the fuel filter tonight. If that doesn't do it, I'll unhook the Greddy FCU and let the car idle...maybe the blue box is the culprit...if so, I'll be ticked!
