Ok so as my sig mentions, last week I a section of my bumper cover off my car last week when I drifted a little to wide around a bend and smashed into a snowbank. I do plan on getting a bodykit but based on the season we're in here in Buffalo, I'm gonna wait on the kit. Until then I need an OEM bumper. My question is, I notice that most body kits fit 96-00 civics. Does that mean that an OEM 99-00 would fit on my 98 without any problems?

Yes I currently am slow with my D16Y7 non-vtec, however soon I will probably be doing a H22A Vtec swap and also a bodykit b/c I broke my front bumper on a snowbank

no they wont.

96-98 has rounder headlights, and is generally just a completely different bumper. the 99-00 bumper WILL NOT fit...correctly that is.

Most body kits fit because they all take some sort of custom fitting... Body kits generally aren't made for perfect fitment.

Becauce they list them all 6th gen together unless you go to a good company. Check out the Wings West web site they have 96-98 and 99-00 listed seperatley. Also it's not just the headlight cut outs thats different. the whole line up of the bumper from the fenders and the hood are all off by a few inches.

Same with the fenders and hood too. If youre just "limpin" it till the kit comes why dont you just use some 2 part epoxy and glue it back together. It actually holds quite well. I did it on my g/fs 98 Lude till I could find a new bumper cover.

theres def. some crazy strong epoxy's out there that'll do the job. thats the route i'd take also.

you do realize that from where my grill and headlight meets all the way to the tire is missing. Even if that would work (which I don't understand how) it would look too ghetto for me. Besides I found a site in which I can get a new oem for $56. My fiances dad has a shop out in Rochester so he can paint it for me
